Pitt, Betty Jane

Betty Jane Pitt, 84, of Appleton, formerly of Fremont, passed away on November 9, 2010, at home. Betty was born on December 17, 1925, in Neenah, to Peter and Emma (Fahrenkrug) Boegh. She married Tom Pitt on May 23, 1944 in Iron Mountain, Michigan and together they owned and operated the T.R. Pitt Agency until her retirement in 1981. Betty was always active, full of life, had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a practical joke even right up to the end. She was an avid doll collector and belonged to several doll collecting groups. She was also a huge Packer fan. Betty is survived by three daughters; Sandy (Dewey) Tangwall, Fremont, Darlene Hermanson, Appleton, Pat (Chuck) Lewis, Fremont, 10 grandchildren; Danan, Derin, Richard, Tom, Jill, Tony, Dan, Andrew, Byron and Jacob, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother, Richard “Whitey” Boegh, Neenah, a special friend and walking buddy, Leah, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first great love, Tom Pitt, her second love, Andre Lamport, two sisters and seven brothers and a special sister-in-law, Jeanne. A memorial service for Betty was held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at HOPE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (8950 Alpine Rd. Fremont, WI 54940 with Pastor Alex Tychkin officiating. Memorials may be made in Betty’s name.
