City’s snow removal policy

Those owning or occupying property in the city of Weyauwega must remove snow and ice from their sidewalks within 24 hours after snowfall.

If ice forms and cannot be removed, a material should be sprinkled on the sidewalk that will reduce the risk of pedestrians slipping or falling.

Snow that is not removed in a timely manner and ice not timely removed or sprinkled will be deemed a public nuisance.

If someone fails to remove snow or ice in compliance with the city’s policy, city employees will remove the snow and ice and charge the cost as a special tax against the property.

Plowing or depositing snow onto public streets or alleys is also prohibited and subject to a penalty.
