Clara L. Walbruck, age 94, New London, loving mother and grandmother, passed away in the arms of Jesus Christ our loving Savior on Sunday, December 19, 2010. On January 13, 1916, Clara was the 5th child out of 7 born to the late Albert and Clara (Major) Schmidt in Marion, WI. On January 13, 1940, she married John Walbruck an Baldwins Mill. He preceded her in death in 1985 following 45 years of marriage. Clara was a hard worker with a heart of gold, always thinking of others before herself. She enjoyed spending time with her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren; whose birthdays she never forgot. Clara is survived by her 9 children: Elaine Schmandt, New London; John Walbruck Jr., New London; Donald Walbruck Sr., New London; Helen Hoewisch, Weyauwega; Carolyn Spoehr and friend, Everett McGlin, Nekoosa; and son-in-law, Wally Spoehr, Janice (Daniel) Bernhardt, Bear Creek; Norman (Joy) Walbruck Sr., New London; Betty (Tim) Granger, Nekoosa; Larry Walbruck, Clintonville. A brother, Arthur Schmidt, Weyauwega, a sister, Alma Walbruck, Waupaca. 35 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by four sister in-laws, Marie, Eleanor, Elaine, and Arline, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Hank and Albert; two sisters, Ella and Ann; two son-in-laws, Leroy Schmandt and Marlyn Hoewisch; a daughter in-law, Barb Walbruck and two grandchildren, Tara Walbruck and Tammy Schmandt. She is further preceded in death by brother in-laws and sister in-laws. Funeral services for Clara were held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation was held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Tuesday December 21, 2010, from 4-8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
