Goerlinger, Mary

Mary Anne Goerlinger, age 73 years, of Clintonville passed away after a short battle with multiple myeloma on Thursday, January 13, 2011 surrounded by family at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee. The former Mary Anne Harbath was born on September 6, 1937 in Gibson City, IL, to Wilmer and Hildegarde (Oestereich) Harbath. She attended grade school in Dyer, IN, and her family settled in Clintonville in 1951. Mary Anne graduated from Clintonville High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Roger J. Goerlinger on September 7, 1957 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Mary Anne began working as a bookkeeper at First National Bank, Appleton, and then she was employed at the Clintonville National Bank for several years. The couple started Goerlinger Insurance Agency and H & R Block in Clintonville, and she was an enrolled agent with the IRS. They owned & operated the business for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Mary Anne was a member of St. Rose Church where she was very active with the PCCW, volunteering with Steak Frys, serving for funeral luncheons, and helping with bingo. She enjoyed playing bridge & canasta, watching the birds, working in the flower garden, feeding the fish in their pond, and going up north to the cottage. Mary Anne especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Roger, and five children; Robert (Karen) Goerlinger of Peshtigo, and their children, Megan & Karl, Cheri (Robert) Suttner of Bear Creek, and their children, Brandi (Jerry Schachtschneider), Fawn, Autumn & Thomas, Kathi (Michael) Wright of Clintonville, and their children, Justin & Courtney, Randall (Gina) Goerlinger of Clintonville, and their daughter, Gabrielle, and Mark (Amy) Goerlinger of Clintonville, and their children, Jack & Neely. There are three great grandchildren, Kortlyn, Kamden & Jase. There is one sister, Barbara (Richard) Hedtke of Combined Locks, two brothers, Wayne (Beverly) Harbath of Clintonville & Dale (Patricia) Harbath of Prescott, and a sister-in-law, Marlene (Dean) Snyder of Seattle, WA. She is further survived by two special aunts, Vi Goodrich of Danville, IN, and Mary Jane Harbath of Clearwater, FL, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto & Mary Oestereich, her parents, her in-laws, Leonard & Ellen Goerlinger, and a great granddaughter, Keelyn Schachtschneider. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. John “Jack” Mullarkey will officiate and burial was in the parish cemetery. Friends called on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass at the church.
