The Waupaca Comet wrestling team split Eastern Valley Conference matches with Appleton Xavier and Little Chute Thursday, Jan. 20, in Little Chute.
The Comets defeated Appleton Xavier 42-18, but fell to the Mustangs 66-12.

Only four wrestlers – two for each team – got any mat time in the match.
Waupaca’s Levi Petroske pinned Mike Marshall in 3:10 at 119, while teammate Brandon Palmer pinned Juho Lee in 5:20 at 145.
The other 12 matches were forfeits, including four double forfeits.
Little Chute 66, Waupaca 12
Palmer picked up a 12-7 win over Alton Kruckenberg at 145, Petroske pinned Zach Cibrario in 124 at 119 and Cody Houtman handed Jason Ebben a 9-2 defeat at 130.
The Comets will head to Winneconne at 5:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 27) before competing in Clintonville at the EVC Meet Saturday, Feb. 5. Matches are set to begin at 9:45 a.m.
