Finger, Viola A.

Viola A. Finger, Age 95, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Viola was born on May 20, 1915, in Deer Creek Township, daughter of the late Alfred and Anna (Rosenow) Knapp. On June 29, 1940, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Finger. She was a resident of Clintonville for five years and then lived and farmed in the Maple Creek Township most of her life. Viola was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sugar Bush. She enjoyed her garden, crocheting, sewing and especially her flowers. She was formerly employed for several years at Thurks in Sugar Bush. Viola is survived by her daughters, Dixie (John) Nischke, Pulaski; Gloria Passehl (special friend, David Ernst), Tigerton and a son, Dale (Mary) Finger, New London. Sister-in-law, Signie Knapp, Clintonville; and a step-sister-in-law, Pat Witt, New London. Eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, a daughter, Linda, a brother Fred Knapp, brother in-law and sister in-law, Rueben (Lucille) Finger, sister and brother in-law, Clara (Gilbert) Steinberg, a granddaughter, Christine Finger and a son-in-law, Don Passehl. Funeral services for Viola were held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Sugar Bush, with Rev. F.K. Berger officiating. Burial will be in the New Maple Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
