Lehman, Henry A.

Henry A. Lehman, 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. He was born on November 21, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Henry and Bertha Lehman. In May 1959, he was united in marriage to Mildred Nystrom, in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He moved to Manawa in 2008 to be near his daughter and her family. Hank took flying lessons when he was only 15, while working part time at a grocery store. He got his pilot’s license when he was 17, and because of that, he was given the opportunity to serve his country during WWII, as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. He had several occupations, including a mechanic for a dairy company, a postal employee, and a salesman. He was involved in many different organizations over the years, his passion being to try and help people overcome their problems. He was a devout Christian whose words of wisdom were, “keep the faith”. Hank will be greatly missed by his daughter, Marion Brown, grandchildren, Bryan (Kathryn) Brown, Kelsey Brown, and great grandchildren, Riley, Ali, Kaden Brown, and his special little dog, Mickey. There will be a graveside service on March 19, 2011, at Chapel Hill Gardens, in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
