Nelson, Norman K.

Norman K. “Norm” Nelson, age 62, New London, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Norman was born on May 28, 1948, in Neenah son of the late Myron and Mildred (Weinke) Nelson. On May 19, 1973, he was united in marriage to Mary Probst. Norm worked for the New London Police Department for 30 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant in 2001. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Norm was an avid gun collector and also an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served his country in the US Navy and the Army Reserves. Norman is survived by his wife Mary; a daughter, Heather (Travis) Kloehn, New London and a son, Andrew (Halie) Nelson, New London; a brother, Keith (Judy) Nelson, Neenah; and a sister, Lana (Walter) Angell, Neenah. Seven grandchildren, Trent, Mason, Madeleine, Allison, Blake, Chase and Degan. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Myron “Bub”, Duane “Buzz” and a sister, Darlene Stinski. Funeral services for Norm will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London and also at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
