St. Martin celebrates Lutheran Schools Week

Saint Martin’s Lutheran School in Clintonville celebrated National Lutheran Schools Week from March 6-12, along with other Lutheran schools around the United States. The children participated in many activities during the week, kicking it all off with a special worship service on Sunday.

On Monday the whole school participated in many heart-healthy physical activities in a Jump Rope for Heart day, which was run by the seventh graders. Prior to the event the students raised a total of $2,864.04, with all proceeds go towards the American Heart Association.

On Tuesday, March 8, students from St. Martin, Clintonville and St. Paul, Bonduel met at St. James in Shawano to watch Christian children’s singer, Jennie Otto Williamson, perform. The students participated in a talent show ran by the eighth grade on Wednesday. Chrissy and Seth Betz took first place with their musical performance, followed by Emily Klein who sang a piece and Nicole Kirchner who dazzled the crowd with her hula-hooping abilities.

The rest of the week followed with activities such as singing at local venues, the all-school relays organized by the sixth graders, swimming at the Clintonville REC center, and the Saint Martin’s annual Fun Fair on Saturday, March 12.

St. Martin Lutheran currently has 195 students receiving a Christian education in grades Pre-School through 8.
