Golomski, Eleanor F.

Eleanor F. Golomski, age 94, Galloway, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital, Stevens Point. She was born on January 31, 1917 in Polonia, the daughter of the late Vincent and Frances (Berna) Herek. On September 3, 1938, Eleanor was united in marriage to Ben ‘Bonovent’ Golomski in Polonia. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2002. Eleanor and Ben lived in Milwaukee after marriage. The couple then lived in Fancher until moving to Galloway where they owned and operated a dairy farm for 65 years. Eleanor was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Galloway and its Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, playing bingo, singing, dancing and feeding and watching the birds. Eleanor was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed the Bucks, Brewers and Packers. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle and giving person and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Lorraine ‘Laurie’Aicher, Wittenberg, Sharyn ‘Shar’ Nelson, Oconomowoc and Richard ‘Dick’ (Donna) Golomski, Galloway; seven grandchildren, Kresta-Leigh (Craig) Finger, Cosette (Special Friend Kevin) VanRite, Tiffany (Jim) Kimball, Lance (fiance Erin) Golomski, Carrie El (Matt) Burazin, Bradley Kealiher and Jennifer Kealiher; three great-grandchildren, Maxwell Finger, Josh VanRite and Ashley VanRite; one sister, Dolores Yenter, Stevens Point and two brothers, Edwin (Verona) Herek, and Vincent Herek all of Custer. In addition to her husband and parents Eleanor was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galloway. The Rev. Lyle Schulte will officiate. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation was on Saturday from 9AM until the time of service at the church. Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangments.
