Omro outhits Waupaca

Omro ended Waupaca’s baseball season by handing the Comets a 15-7 defeat Tuesday, May 31, in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal.

The Foxes scored four times in the top of the first inning and added five more in the seventh.

Waupaca cut Omro’s lead to 4-2 with a pair of runs in the first, added single runs in the fifth and sixth and came up with three more in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.

Casey Nicewander had three of the Comets’ eight hits, while Broghan Cullen added two. Phil Clark had five of Omro’s 18 hits.

Kevin Moe took the loss for the Comets as Waupaca ended its season at 10-12.
