Humblet, John T.

John T. Humblet, age 71, New London, cherished husband, loving father and grandfather (Papa), was called to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday evening July 14, 2011, after fighting the good fight against COPD. On June 15, 1940, he was born to Richard and Esther Humblet. He married his high school sweetheart Jean Johnson on October 28, 1961. John was a New London resident all his life. He worked at Brown’s Service Station, Villa St. Vincent, Neenah Foundry and was employed by the New London School District for 30 years and was very proud of his work there. John was an avid fisherman from youth on the Wolf River and served many a tasty breakfast from his shanty. He enjoyed watching the birds especially hummingbirds. John also enjoyed playing cards with his brother in-law, Steve and his wife Sue, of Wrightstown. He loved country music. John is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Jeffrey (Sherry), Oconto; Rich (friend Lisa), Fond du Lac; daughters, Dorothy (Brad) Wright, Oshkosh; Kathie (Bill) Fehrman, New London; grandchildren: Tom, Jacob, Teresa,, Jarod, Rebecca, Johnny, Jeffrey, and Jessica Humblet, Hunter Tietz, Chase, McKenna, and Brady Fehrman and Brock Humblet. Step-grand children: Alexis and Dakota Wright, Skyler and Britin Hestnes and their mom, Stephanie. Great grandchildren, Kaydence and Xyleigh Humblet. Brothers, Bill (Peg) Muskevitsch and Roman (Deb) Muskevitsch; sisters, Shirley (Jim) Viotto and Bev (Dennis) Plaster. Step-mother, Helen Campbell. In-laws, Steve and Sue Johnson; special friends, Kim and Marla Knuettel. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mom, Vernelle Humblet; sister, Laura Muskevitsch; brothers, Joe, Johnny and Jim Muskevitsch; mother and father in-law, Phyllis and John Johnson. Special thanks to his granddaughter Hunter for all the help she gave him this past year.

Funeral services for John were held on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Rev. Lucretia Fehrmann officiating. Friends called at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery, New London.
