Shambeau, Kristine

Kristine Sue (Myers) Shambeau, Waupaca, age 55, passed away at Riverside Medical Center on Saturday, July 16, 2011. She was born in Tigerton, WI on December 31, 1955, the daughter of Anne L. (Jones) Myers and the late Robert A. Myers. She graduated from Marion High School in 1974, and obtained a degree from Fox Valley Technical College. She worked as Office Manager at the Iola Living Assistance for most of her career, from 1983 to 2005, when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She married Brian K. Shambeau on June 11, 1983, and raised four children in Manawa: Jill Myer (Daughter of Larry R. Myer of Neenah), Brian C. Shambeau of Manawa, Kara (Shambeau) Tohm of Manawa, and Dana (Shambeau) Thompson of Waupaca. She enjoyed visits with grandchildren, Grace, Maggie, and Wesley. She loved to play softball at Taylor Field in Iola, and was known for distracting batters with her “chatter” as the team’s catcher. Kris was well known for her contagious laugh, sense of humor, and her strong Christian faith. She greatly enjoyed her clever Halloween costumes, and took pride in holiday decorating. She enjoyed crocheting, walks, planting flowers , her Springer Spaniels, singing and music, watching the Packers, shopping (especially for gifts), and never missed a craft fair. Kris is preceded in death by her father, Robert Andrew Myers; brother, Robert Alan Myers; brother-in-law, James W. Frankow; as well as paternal and maternal grandparents. Kris will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jill; son-in- law, Dan; son, Brian; mother, Anne Myers (Iola); siblings, Gloria (Roger) Olson of Iola; Glenn (Linda) Myers of Waupaca; Roberta Frankow of Hortonville; Connie (Vern) Wendt of Ogdensburg; and Herb (Ronda) Myers of Iola; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

The family would like to thank Riverside Medical Center, Thedacare Hospice, and Innovative Services for the exceptional care for Kris; and two special roommates, Dana and Julia.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 4-8pm at Voie Funeral Home in Iola, and funeral services were held Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 11: 00 am at Iola United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Eggert officiating.
