Tim Cordy, of Waupaca, will be deployed to Afghanistan this fall.
The son of Jim Cordy and Vicky Cordy, both of Waupaca, Tim enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 2009. He trained in boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego from October 2010 to January 2011 and earned the rank of private first class.
Cody has also completed training in Camp Leujuene in North Carolina to become a combat engineer.
He is currently stationed at Twenty-Nine Palms, the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California.
Cordy is scheduled to leave for Afghanistan in late September or early October.
