Networking at Waupaca Business Expo

The Waupaca Business Expo returns to the Waupaca Ale House Thursday, Oct. 6.

The exposition showcases area businesses, demonstrates and explains new technology and products for home and business.

The program is free and open to the public from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Event planners are expecting more than 20 businesses for the Expo, according to Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce President Terri Schulz.

She describes the event as a networking opportunity.

“The EXPO is about building relationships,” said Schulz. “It’s a chance to renew existing relationships and meet new customers and business partners.”

Several free workshops are planned during the afternoon.

Energy Efficiency for your Business, sponsored by WPS and Focus on Energy, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m., Bauernfeind Business Technologies will present Smart Search and Teacher Assistant: New Options for Document Management.

Fraud in the Workplace – 10 Tips to Avoid Fraud starts at 3:30 p.m, and is sponsored by SVA Certified Public Accountants.

First State Bank will present Online Banking – Is your Business Secure? at 4 p.m.

According to Schulz, some booths will be serving snacks and hors d’oeuvres and a Business After Five will run from 5-7 p.m. (cash bar) at the Ale House. The first 100 people attending the BA-5 will receive a coupon good for $1 off on a beverage.

The Business EXPO is sponsored by the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce, Bethany Home, Cellcom, First State Bank, SVA Certified Public Accountants and WDUX AM & FM. Media sponsors for the Expo include The Business News, Waupaca County Post-West and WSPT Radio.
