Dietz, Gilbert E.

Gilbert E. Dietz, age 68 of the Town of Union, Waupaca County, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday morning October 15, 2011 at his home. Gilbert was born on May 19, 1943 as the beloved son of Lorraine (Mahr) Dietz and the late Ervin Dietz. He grew up in Franklin, WI and after graduation from High School he became a self employed feed and grain dealer. Gilbert was united in marriage to Jane Madden on April 7, 1969. The couple moved to their current residence in 1972. Gilbert was then employed at Rexnord later named Nordberg Manufacturing in Clintonville before retiring due to health reasons in the mid 1990s. Gilbert was an outdoorsman and loved taking hunting and fishing trips as well as vintage boating. He also enjoyed raising beef cattle, cash cropping, attending auctions, and spending time at Manitowish Waters in Vilas County. Gilbert was a past member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Symco where he had at one time served as Elder. Survivors include: His Wife: Jane Dietz. 2 Daughters: Lori Fuller, Franklin; Kristin (Andrew) McFaul, Sheridan, WY. His Son: Jeffrey (Misty) Dietz, Aurora, CO. His Mother: Lorraine Dietz, Franklin. Grandchildren: Chloe, Trapper, & Cali Dietz; Mariah, Austin, Serena McFaul. His Mother-in-Law: Shirley Madden, Andrews, NC. Brothers-in-Law: Bill (Connie) Madden, Tampa, FL. Don Madden, Andrews, NC. Also Nieces: Karin (John) Slyker & Jennifer Sherwood. And a Nephew: Michael Madden. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father; a son-in-law, Bryan Fuller; granddaughters, Abbigail and Allison Fuller; a sister, Judith Hansen; his father-in-law, Ralph Madden, and a sister-in-law, Connie Madden. Funeral services will be held (today) Thursday October 20, 2011 at 11 AM at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with Chaplin Jim Frank officiating. Interment will take place on Friday October 21, 2011 at 11 AM at the Arlington Park Cemetery located at 4141 S. 27th Street, Milwaukee, WI.
