CWEC Member Appreciation Day

Over 400 people attended the Annual Member Appreciation Pancake Breakfast held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (CWEC) headquarters in Rosholt.

Besides the free pancake and sausage breakfast, the event included activities for young and old; face painting, games and goodie bags for the kids; and a number of displays with energy saving tips and fitness information. Plus, the Rosholt Area First Responders were on hand to give blood pressure checks.

Member Appreciation Day is an opportunity for members to learn more about their co-op. CWEC had information on Wild Blue satellite, load management programs, information on how to save money this year and down the road, self-guided tours through the new building, along with a display showing members the new website and Co-op Connections program.

In addition, CWEC kicked off their annual Toys for Tots and Food pantry drives. The response was overwhelming, with the public’s generosity greatly appreciated. This is a great opportunity to help those that are less fortunate than us. All toys are given to children locally, and food is distrusted to food pantries in the CWEC service area.

The door prizes winners were: Todd Wierzba, Bob Brehm, Linda Murie, Elaine Crase, Dan Johnson, Suzi Kaminski, Janet Hoks, Edward Bembenek, Roger Young and George Dziedzic. The Toys for Tots door prize winner was Linda Burant.

The winner of the 20-inch bike and helmet was Betty Murie.
