WCNRF elects officers, board

The Waupaca County Natural Resources Foundation (WCNRF) elected officers at its annual meeting Wednesday, Nov. 2.

WCNRF seeks to enhance and preserve local natural resources. It has developed partnerships with the Sturgeon Trail, community gardens in Waupaca, Weyauwega and Clintonville, trail groups in Clintonville, Waupaca and Marion, Challenge the Outdoors, Pheasants Forever and other organizations.

As a tax-exempt foundation, WCNRF can act as a receivership and disbursement agency for organizations or projects that receive federal or state funding, private donations and bequests.

Officers for the upcoming year are President Pat Phair, Waupaca; Vice President Dan Sambs, Fremont; Treasurer Clyde Tellock, Clintonville; and Secretary Jim Simpson, Clintonville/Marion. Board members include Larry Dieck, Marion; Ben Durfee, Waupaca; Jim Hlaban, Ogdensburg; Linda Kassera, Weyauwega; Mike Mazemke, Iola; Roger Pitt, New London; and Jay Sturm, Manawa.
