Tews, Harold L.

Harold L. Tews, age 87, New London, went to his eternal home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Theda Clark Hospital, following a short illness. Harold was born on November 4, 1924, in Caledonia Township son of the late Erwin and Edna (Drews) Tews. On September 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marlene Forster at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Harold owned and operated Sunnyside Dairy Cheese Factory in Readfield for many years. He was also employed at Tews Inc. in New London until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and was a member of a Barber Shop Quartet that he enjoyed singing in. Harold served his country in the US Army in WWII. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Harold is survived by his wife Marlene; his children, Peter (Nancy) Tews, Dodgeville; Kathleen (Tim) Trauger, Appleton; Brian (Jeannie) Tews, Appleton and Steven Tews, Neenah. A sister, Judith (Bill) Mattlin, Stevens Point. Grandchildren, Jacob (Leith), David (Kaili), Lauren and John Tews; Benjamin and Jessica Trauger and Alexander and Joshua Tews. Great-grandchild-ren: Eliana, Quinton and Sara Tews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ed, Roger and Gordon and a sister, Audrey Fenske. Funeral Services for Harold were held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011 and also at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
