Thorne, Wayne A.

Wayne A. Thorne, of Phillips, formerly of Iola, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 26, 2011, with family at his side, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Illinois on July 4, 1943, the son of Louis Sr. and Alice (Lehman) Thorne. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Doud on October 19, 1963. Wayne enjoyed several activities including spending time with family, hunting, fishing, woodworking, gambling and traveling. He also liked to make maple syrup and fishing lures. He loved to go camping, boating and sitting by the campfire. He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Phillips, formerly of Iola; sons: Tim (Liz) of Iola and Steve (Tami) of Waupaca; grandchildren: Derek, Dylan, Nichole and Zachary Thorne; brother, Louis (Phyllis) Thorne, Jr of Sun City, AZ and sister, Barbara Soucie of Chandler, AZ. Wayne is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, parents-in-law, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 7 PM at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Charles L. Tews officiating.
