Drake, Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Drake, of Waupaca, age 65, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana on September 22, 1946 to the late Osben and Velva (Phaff) Clay. She and her husband, Daniel Drake were married for 46 years. Mary was a member of McDole Baptist Church in Bloomington, IN, and later Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, genealogy and was an excellent cook. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Daniel; children, Tim (Michele) Drake of Waupaca; and Tamara (Scott Hubeny) Drake of Missoula, MT; grandchildren: Andrew and Terry Ketcham, Joe Drake, Caitlyn and Jerica Lobenthal; brother, Clovis Clay of IN; sisters, Carol Clay of Richmond, IN and Marlene Robey of IN; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Clay. The Memorial Service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Cherry Meadows Hospice. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
