Hansen, Evelyn E.

Evelyn E. Hansen, age 89, formerly of Wittenberg, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital, Weston. She was born on June 26, 1922 in the township of Helvatia, Waupaca County, the daughter of the late Ole and Nettie (Strand) Wolberg. On August 20, 1938 she was united in marriage to Emery Wogsland in Iola. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1957. She then married Lionel Hansen on October 3, 1959. He also preceded her in death. Evelyn worked as a cook at the Wittenberg Elementary School for over 10 years and also worked as a nursing assistant at the Homme Home of Wittenberg. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed oil and watercolor painting, sewing and writing. Evelyn was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was very special to all who knew her and will be missed. Survivors include five children: Shirley Wogsland, Milwaukee; Sharon (Bill) Powers, Eagle River; Judy Hamrick, Williamson, WV; Steven (Pamela) Wogsland, Birnamwood and Connie (Howard) Kriesel, Reedsburg; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and four sisters-in-law: Alice Wolberg, Waupaca; Shirley Wogsland, Green Bay; Lorna Wogsland, Orange, TX and Sylvia Wogsland, Iola. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her. In addition to her husbands and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Sowers, Helen Boe and Jeanette Anderson and one brother, Harold Wolberg. A Memorial Service was held at 2pm on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate. Inurnment will be in Northland Lutheran Cemetery, township of Harrison, Waupaca County at a later date. Visitation was on Saturday from 1pm until the time of services at the funeral home.
