Schroeder, Ardyce L.

Ardyce L. Schroeder, age 86, passed away with her family by her side, on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. On November 4, 1925, Ardyce Lorraine, was born on the family farm in the Town of Waupaca, to the late Emil and Martha (Hochschultz) Schroeder. She was united in marriage to Alfred Elandt on October 20, 1945; he preceded her in death on June 28, 1975. Ardyce was raised and lived on her family farm until recently when her health began to decline. When her children were younger, they were in the Baldwins Mill 4-H Club where she participated as a leader and was also a member of the Maple Grove Homemakers. She had learned many talents over the years such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and cooking. For over 35 years, she worked for Niemuth’s Steak and Chop Shop in Waupaca. She was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Baldwins Mill. Ardyce will be missed by her children, Marcia (Dennis) Edwards and Kenn (Nancy) Elandt; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tracy (Mike) Wilson, and their children, Michael and Matthew; Amy (Ted) Robbins, and their children, Nia and Lauren; Amber Elandt, Anne (Chris) Knapp, John Edwards and his daughter, Aliea; and Tammy (Craig) Wenberg, and their children, Mackenzie and Collin; sisters-in-law: Leona Backer, Linda Loss, and Marian Elandt; a special friend, Bill Joch; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Robbins; her sister, Ruth Roche, and her former husband, Mayford Rice. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Bethany Home Chapel, 1226 Berlin Street, Waupaca. Visitation was held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the chapel. Interment will take place in Baldwins Mill Cemetery in the Town of Royalton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
