Nolan, Robert W.

Robert W. Nolan age 64, passed away on January 6th in Phoenix, Arizona doing what he loved best, golfing. He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on February 7th, 1947. He attended Xavier High School and Appleton West High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Rita Kohl on September 4th, 1965. His first daughter, Michelle was born in 1967 and his second daughter, Lisa in 1969. They raised their family in Weyauwega where they have been till the present. He was a salesman all his life. He sold Catholic magazines at 16yrs of age. He then went on to sell shoes at, Big Shoe Store, in Appleton. He started selling for Mory Distributing, Sysco, where he sold meat to many fine restaurants, schools and supper clubs. The Pine Tree being one of his favorites. He had his own shoe store in Waupaca, Step-In-Shoe Store, in the 70’s and 80’s. He started selling Potatoes for, Loretzen Farms, and went on to start his own business, White Lake Marketing, where he was known as Potato Bob. Bob loved baseball, the Green Bay Packers, shooting pool, fishing, hunting, painting and most of all golf. He loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as the Life Of The Party! Bob had a way of making friends with complete strangers and putting smiles on their faces, with his witty sense of humor. This was never more evident than in his last hours before his passing. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Rita; his daughter Michelle and husband Bart along with their sons, Spencer Nolan Young who is majoring in Graphic Arts at St. Norbert’s college in De Pere where he shares the same passion for art as his Grandfather; and Hunter Young who excelled in high school football for Shiocton Chiefs. Grandpa loved to see his H-Train run. He was so excited to go to Madison to see them play at State. Daughter Lisa and husband Keith along with their daughters, Megan (Fiance Eric Ewert) and Emily. Megan will always be her Grandpa’s, Pookie, as she was his first grandchild. He was so proud of her being such a great mom and loved spending time with his only great grandchild, Brock. Emily, grandpa’s little Emmerz will be remembered by her grandfather as a strong lady and a free spirit like himself. He is further survived by brothers, Dave (Chris) Nolan, son Jared and daughters Kara and Kelsey; Gary Nolan, sons Ryan and Christopher; sister Laurie (Randy) Miller, son Cody and daughter Casey, who always had a special place in her uncle’s heart; sister Cheryl’s children, Scott and Randy Endres, and daughter Heather Gryboski. He is also survived by Ritas’ large family of brothers and sisters, all who held their own special place in Bob’s heart as well. He was preceded in death by his mother Angie, father Carrol, stepfather Loyal Leach and loving sister Cheryl Nolan, father-in-law Lawrence Kohl and mother-in-law Agnes Kohl. A visitation and celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at St John’s Church and Center for Inner Peace, in New London (1513 Pinewood Lane). Friends and family may visit from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with service to follow. Rev. Paul Feider will officiate. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
