Papineau, Chester J.

Chester J. “Chet” Papineau, Waupaca, WI, age 71 – died on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. He was born on March 22, 1940 in Wausau, WI, the son of Chester Joseph and Elva Lee (Butchin) Papineau, II. He married Doreen Bonnell on November 27, 1982 in Lafayette, CO. Chet is survived by his wife, Doreen; a son, Dana Papineau of Monmouth, IL; a daughter, Cinda (Bruce) Burgland of Monmouth, IL, three grandchildren: Andrea Papineau of Monmouth, IL; Audrey Papineau of Macomb, IL, and Alex Burgland of Monmouth, IL, a brother, Don Papineau of Florida, and his mother-in-law, Rachael Pomerenke of Waupaca. He is further survived by other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Chester J. “Joey” Papineau, III; his parents, and his fathers-in-law: Duwain Bonnell and Orville Pomerenke. Chet most recently worked as a machinist at the Waupaca Foundry. He had been an open range ranch hand when he lived in Colorado, and was proud to have served as a police officer in Sandpoint, ID and Lafayette, CO. Chet was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed being a Rock Hound searching for various special rocks and gems. He also enjoyed carpentry. He was very proud to be a Mason and belonged to the Centennial Masonic Lodge #82 – Golden, CO, and the Lakeside Masonic Lodge #42 – Sandpoint, ID. He was also an avid hockey fan and closely followed both the Waupaca Comet High School and UW-Stevens Point Hockey teams. A Gathering of Friends will be held at a later date. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
