Goerlinger, Roger J.

Roger J. Goerlinger, age 76 years, of Clintonville passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Thursday, February 16, 2012 surrounded by family. Roger James Goerlinger was born January 25, 1936 in Clintonville to Leonard and Ellen (Neely) Goerlinger. Roger graduated from Clintonville High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Mary Anne Harbath on September 7, 1957 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. The couple started H & R Block and Goerlinger Insurance Agency in their home then moved their business ownership to Main St. in Clintonville for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Roger is a member of St. Rose Church, he served on the board of directors for Truck City Credit Union, worked in human resources at FWD Corp., other part-time jobs at Kimberly Clark, Korb Oil, Schroeder Clark, and bartended at the Clintonville Golf Course. Roger enjoyed tending his water garden goldfish, deer and pheasant hunting, as well as fishing and boating at their recreation property at Wheeler Lake in Lakewood, WI. Roger was a Jaycee, played baseball for the American Legion team, enjoyed Friday fish fries, and playing cards with friends and relatives. Survivors include his five children: Robert (Karen) Goerlinger of Peshtigo, and their children, Megan and Karl; Cheri (Robert) Suttner of Bear Creek, and their children, Brandi (Jerry Schachtschneider), Fawn, Autumn and Thomas; Kathi (Michael) Wright of Clintonville, and their children, Justin and Courtney; Randall (Gina) Goerlinger of Clintonville, and their daughter, Gabrielle; and Mark (Amy) Goerlinger of Clintonville, and their children, Jack and Neely. There are three great grandchildren, Kortlyn, Kamdyn and Jase. He is further survived by a sister, Marlene (Dean) Snyder of Seattle, WA, one sister-in-law, Barbara (Richard) Hedtke of Combined Locks, two brothers-in-law, Wayne (Beverly) Harbath of Clintonville and Dale (Patricia) Harbath of Prescott, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Ellen Goerlinger, his in-laws, Wilmer and Hildegarde Harbath, his wife Mary Anne, and a great granddaughter, Keelyn Schachtschneider. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. Dan Schuster officiated and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends called on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass at the church.
