Pease to perform at Manawa library

Musician Tom Pease will appear at Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1.

The concert is in celebration of Read across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Pease’s performance is free and all ages are welcome.

Pease, from Amherst, has been performing for youth since 1982 and does an average of 200 shows a year. He has performed for libraries, schools and special events all across the country and has been the recipient of numerous awards, including Parents Choice awards for some of his many recordings.

The Manawa schools and the Sturm Memorial Library have been hosting special events for Read across America for many years and encourage all area families to read to their children on March 2.

The library is celebrating the day before to make it easier for families to attend an event after school. Birthday cake in honor of the late Dr. Seuss will be served following the performance.
