Pelky, Floyd J.

Floyd J. Pelky, age 89 years, of Clintonville (formerly of the Town of Deer Creek) passed away Tuesday evening, February 14, 2012 at his home. Floyd John Pelky was born on August 26, 1922 in the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, to Isaac and Helen (Kelpinski) Pelky. After graduating from Bear Creek High School he continued working on the family farm. Later on Floyd moved to Milwaukee where he owned & operated a TV repair shop for some time. Over the years, he was employed as a machine shop inspector in Oshkosh and New London, also with Catapillar in Milwaukee, Giddings & Lewis in Fond du Lac, and FWD Corporation in Clintonville. Floyd retired in 1983 and settled with his nephew’s family eleven years ago. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek, and is a former member of the church finance council. In his younger years, Floyd was a pitcher with the FWD Baseball Team. He really enjoyed watching baseball and football, listening to polka music, and playing his special numbers in the lottery. Survivors include his sister, Marie Lorge of Clintonville. There are four nieces: Mary Theresa (Jim) Rew of Menasha, Wyoma Jean Clark of Shawano, Lucille (Harlan) Schneidewend of Neenah, and Kathleen (Steve) Kettenhoven of Clintonville. There are seven nephews: David (Lily) Lorge of Clintonville, Daniel Lorge of Embarrass, Dennis (Margie) Lorge of Clintonville, Dewey (Susie) Lorge of Menasha, Vernon (friend Debra Mehlberg) Lorge of Clintonville, Joseph Lorge of Mount Juliet, TN, and Kenneth (Armadina) Lorge of Nashville, TN. He is further survived by many great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Kenneth Lorge, and a niece, Candace Lorge. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Msgr. John Dewane officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.
