Riverside Medical Center will offer two sessions of its Safe Sitter class.
The program is taught by registered nurses and covers first aid; injury prevention; CPR; basic child-care skills such as diapering and feeding; management of problem behavior; and the business side of babysitting, among other topics. Teens will be required to attend both classes to receive a completion certificate.
The spring series is from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, March 17 and 24.
The summer series is from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday, July 23-25.
All classes are held at RMC’s Maasch Education Center.
The class is open to girls and boys ages 11 to 13. The fee is $25, and advance registration is required.
