Van Rossum, David

David P. Van Rossum, New London, age 70, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 in Appleton. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Green Bay, son of the late George and Ruth (Kerkhoff) Van Rossum. Dave was employed by Gordon L. Peterson Basements in Oneida for many years as well as Ort Trucking Co. in New London until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. Dave was also a big Packer fan. He is survived by his three children: Dan (Ann) Van Rossum, Duane Van Rossum, and Debra (Jon) Toepfer and their daughter Paige Marie; Donna Van Rossum, the mother of his children; six brothers and sisters: his twin sister Dorothy Hoffman, Ken Van Rossum, Karen (Duane) Court, Gary (Ann) Van Rossum, Al (Marge) Van Rossum, and Jeff (Gail) Van Rossum. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Preceding him in death were his parents. Funeral services for David were held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Deacon Don Newhouse officiating. Interment will be in Community Cemetery in the Town of Freedom. Friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until the time of services.
