Indians, Tigers beat Trucks
The Berlin Indians handed the Lady Truckers a 26-38 loss on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Berlin led 12-4 after one quarter and 22-6 at halftime. Clintonville battled back, scoring nine in the third quarter and 11 in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to Berlin.
Allison Shepard and Dayna Seymour both scored six points for Clintonville, while Markiesa Westphal scored four. Stacy Reinke and Lauren Pugh both scored three, while Brittany Hoffman and Miranda Hagberg both scored two.
“The girls played excellent defense but cold shooting was the cause of this loss tonight. We only put one bucket in the entire first half, and ended up shooting only 17 percent from the field for the game,” said Coach Jennifer Soldner. “We had some great shots, they just weren’t falling. Berlin hit 5 three pointers- 4 of them in the first half. We got down early and didn’t have the momentum to help us get back in the game.”
