Rotary seeks applicants for Australia trip

Rotary District 6220 is accepting applications for a four-week fully paid Group Study Exchange to Australia for non-Rotarian men and women from ages 25 to 40.

The four persons selected will leave Oct. 18 and return Nov. 17.

Applicants must either live or work in Rotary District 6220, which extends from the southern borders of Kewaunee, Brown, Outagamie, Waupaca, Portage and Marathon counties north to the Michigan border west of Escanaba and Marquette.

Tom Guyette, of Green Bay, will lead the team to Sidney and Rotary District 9750, host for the month-long vocational, cultural, business and professional experience. Team members are expected to attend three weekend pre-trip training sessions with leader Guyette.

Team members will stay with Rotarian families in the cities covered by District 9750.

Selected team members will be able to express specific vocational preferences, and the Australian hosts will make every effort to accommodate those wishes.

Rotary International will pay for round trip airfare. Participants are responsible for clothing, personal expenses and small gifts members choose to bring for host families.

Applicants must be sponsored by a Rotary club in District 6220 and cannot be a spouse or child of a Rotarian. Those selected must be at least 25 years old on July 1 and under 41 at the time of application and engaged in full-time employment.

Application deadline is April 15, and interviews to select team members will be April 28 at a location yet to be established.

For application forms and additional information, interested persons may contact any Waupaca Rotary Club member or by email to outbound chairman Fred Borchardt of Appleton at: [email protected].
