First-round softball, baseball pairings

First-round pairings have been announced for divisions 2, 3 and 4 of the state baseball and softball tournaments.

Division 1 pairings will not be released until later. Waupaca, New London and Hortonville’s baseball teams are in Division 1, as is Hortonville’s softball team.
First-round games in divisions 2-4 are scheduled for Thursday, May 24 (softball) and Friday, May 25 (baseball).
Here’s a rundown of area teams and where they’ll play:
Softball
Division 2
Little Chute Sectional: Berlin (No. 5 seed) at Waupaca (No. 4); and Clintonville (No. 7) at West De Pere (No. 2). New London (No. 1), has a bye in the first round and will host Freedom (No. 4) or Winneconne (No. 5) Tuesday, May 29.
Division 3
Necedah Sectional: Menominee Indian (No. 6) at Iola-Scandinavia (No. 3); Plainfield Tri-County (No. 6) at Amherst (No. 3); Manawa (No. 5) at Crandon (No. 4); and Necedah (No. 5) at Wild Rose (No. 4). Weyauwega-Fremont (No. 1) has a bye in the first round and will host Amherst or Tri-County Tuesday, May 29.
Division 4
Wisconsin Rapids Assumption Sectional: White Lake (No. 6) at Marion (No. 3). Almond-Bancroft (No. 1) has a bye in the first round and will host Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran (No. 4) or Pittsville (No. 5) Tuesday, May 29.
Baseball
Division 2
Marinette Sectional: Clintonville (No. 2) has a bye in the first round and will host Tomahawk (No. 3) or Northland Pines (No. 6) Tuesday, May 29.
Division 3
Stevens Point Pacelli Sectional: Plainfield Tri-County (No. 6) at Iola-Scandinavia (No. 3); Manawa (No. 5) at Wild Rose (No. 4); and Menominee Indian (No. 6) at Weyauwega-Fremont (No. 3). Amherst (No. 2) has a bye in the first round and will host Iola-Scandinavia or Tri-County Tuesday, May 29.
Division 4
Rosholt Sectional: Wausau Newman (No. 5) at Almond-Bancroft (No. 4); and Marion (No. 5) at Gresham (No. 4).
