Barg, Henry “Bud”

Henry “Bud” Barg, age 89 passed away June 5, 2012, at Bethany Home. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 17, 1922, the son of Henry Herbert and Fredrica Barg. He married Dorothea Anne McCrossen on June 14th, 1941. He is survived by one son, William H. Barg (Charlotte Vaughn), and a daughter Bonnie J (Norman) Paulson all of Scandinavia, WI. Three grandchildren, David (Barb) Barg, and Deborah A. Rankin of Waupaca and Scott (Becky) Paulson of Scandinavia, plus five great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nephews, cousins, many friends and a special friend Josephine Flintz. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and one daughter-in-law, Anna (Kearns) Barg. He was in Germany and Austria and other European countries during WWII with the Army’s 106th Cavalry. He worked for McCrossen Crane & Cartage for most of his working career, purchasing the business with his wife in the early 70’s. They retired in 1981, selling the business and moving to Almond, WI. (Town of Belmont). He enjoyed working with his son at auctions, and puttering around his home. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Milwaukee, WI. the Operating Engineers, Local 139 for over 50 years and a life member of the Waupaca VFW Post 1037. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, N2620 State Hwy 22; Waupaca. The visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service, full Military Honors will follow. Family burial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, WI. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future at the VFW hall, Post 1037, Waupaca, WI for both Henry and Dorothea. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.
