Borchardt, Robb L.

Robb L. Borchardt, (Woobs) age 58, New London passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012. Robb was born on January 9, 1954, son of Carl and Betty Ann (Plutz) Borchardt. He was happily married for 26 years to Nancy Hodges. They shared time together in outdoor activities, cooking, making firewood and canning for the cellar. Robb worked for 24 years in the tool and die shop at Miller Electric, succeeded by 16 years as shop supervisor with Metso. He was a genuine, selfless man with an unmatched sense of humor and an impeccable sense of integrity. Master and best friend to Hiram, the best looked after yellow lab in Waupaca County. The many “woobs-isms” catalogued over the years will live on eternally through the family and friends who knew him well. Robb is survived by his wife Nancy, parents, Carl and Betty Ann Borchardt; his brothers, Dale K. (Sandra) and Ross C. (Diane) Borchardt (who Robb was very devoted and loyal to); father and mother in-law, William J. and Joan T. Hodges. He is further survived by many other loving family members, friends and Hiram Walker Jr. Funeral services for Robb were held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Interment is in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Robb was a man of amazing willpower and perseverance, known by all as one who never gave up in the face of adversity and never cut corners. Only after a grueling 5 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis, did his fight come to an end, reuniting Robb with his forbearers. It is the family’s request that any monetary donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. http://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org.
