County zoning changes planned

Waupaca County will host two informational meetings on draft amendments to the Waupaca County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances.
The first meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the Waupaca County Courthouse, Room LL42, 811 Harding St., Waupaca. The second meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Waupaca County Industries, 175 W. Howard St., Manawa.
“These meetings are a great way for the public to learn about proposed changes to the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. Now that the ordinances have been in place for several years, we have found areas that could be improved and better serve Waupaca County property owners,” said Melinda Osterberg, Waupaca County Planner.
The purpose of the meetings will be to provide information and receive feedback on proposed amendments to the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances, prior to a public hearing before the Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Committee and final action by the Waupaca County Board.
The intent of the amendments are to allow property owners more flexibility while maintaining the Waupaca County Comprehensive Plan.
“Our office is looking forward to implementing the changes that the public and the Townships have suggested to streamline the application processes,” Zoning Administrator Jean Gliniecki said.
