Key, Jane Ellen

Jane Ellen Key, 60, Milwaukee passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, after a valiant 13 year struggle with cancer. She was born on March 5, 1952, to Charles and Catherine Collier Key. Her mother passed away when Jane was five years old and her sisters were 8 and 9 years old. Throughout her life she spent many holidays and summers with her mother’s sister and family in New London, Ward and Margaret Barrington. She participated in many St. Patrick’s Day parades in New Dublin and Milwaukee. Every year on the first Sunday in July she attended the Hurley Family Reunion at Hatten Park which she will miss this year. Jane had a zest for life and never complained or asked for help throughout her illness, always feeling there was someone else worse off than her. She is survived by her daughter Alexandra Key, her sisters, Susan (Dick) Kachelmeyer, and Nancy Key (Tom) Smith and their families. Her second family Judy (Jim) Mc Daniel; Mike (Ruth) Barrington; Suzi (the late Pete) Snyder; Margie (John) Kloehn; Dan (Melanie) Barrington; Tom “Mooch” (Judy) Barrington; Kathy (Russ) Laczniah and Joan (Steve) Malliet and their families. Her cousin and Alexandra’s godparents, Shane (Mary) Fields and their children, who she considered her special family for the past 25 years. She is further survived by other relatives and many close friends, especially Chris and her daughters who were always there for her and who she enjoyed being with. She was preceded in death by her parents and cousin, Dave “Fluff” Barrington and his wife Bonnie. Funeral services for Jane will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on 92nd and Capital Drive, Milwaukee at 11:30 AM with Father Bob Kollath officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Krause Funeral Home, Milwaukee is assisting the family with arrangements. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30th for family and friends at Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London with Father Bob Kalloth officiating.
