Allan “Van” van Maastricht passed away suddenly at his home in Riverside, CA on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the age of 57. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Alice “Allie” (Kiar) van Maastricht; his maternal grandparents Rose (Moran) and Ted Kiar of Tomahawk, WI; paternal grandparents Albert van Maastricht of Sussex, WI; and Gladys and Joe Lapp of Winneconne, WI, and his step-sister Debbie (Kontos) Topping. He is survived by his children Alan van Maastricht, Jr. and Timothy (Michelle) van Maastricht of Holland, MI; Melanie van Maastricht of Phoenix, AZ, and Alex (Sana) van Maastricht of Riverside, CA as well as his grandchildren Lauren van Maastricht and Silas van Maastricht. He is also survived by his siblings, Alice van Maasticht, Sandra (William) van Maastricht-Trythall, and Joe van Maastricht of Milwaukee, WI; Sandra (Kontos) Shanak and Larry van Maastricht, Jr. of Waupaca, WI, and Ken van Maastricht of Green Bay, WI. His nieces and nephews: Kris, Dan, Billy, Ellen, Jenny, Joe, Michael, and Amanda will miss him. Allan, a 1972 graduate of Weyauwega High School, was retired from the United States Marine Corps and working in Riverside, CA at the time of his death. He was cremated in Riverside, CA. The family will be celebrating Allan’s life at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk, WI on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11 am, when his cremains will be buried next to his parents.
