Toastmasters plan White Elephant Sale

Waupaca Area Toastmasters Club will hold its annual White Elephant Sale at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the home of Keith Murie in Iola.

The club relies on funds raised through the sale to purchase training manuals, designation pins, ribbons, certificates, awards, etc. and also to pay the application fee for new members.

Among the items auctioned off last year were an “Occupied Japan” figurine, a choice of plant from the garden of a Master Gardener, a vintage basketball game, a “Jawbone” headset and a pan of double chocolate brownies.

“I’m looking forward to this year’s White Elephant Sale. Circumstances didn’t allow me to attend last year and I’ve heard how much fun this event is; I don’t want to miss it again,” said newly elected club president, Kelly Hamilton from Clintonville. “This will show us how much we’ve learned and can put our skills to good use for our club. I expect to see some great “white elephants” this year.”

The public is welcome to attend. There is no charge. Food and beverages will be provided. To make reservations, contact Keith Murie at [email protected] or 715-445-2726)
