Clintonville Youth Trap Club shooters Cody Wilfuer, Coy Hansen, Darien Kettenhoven and John Klemp earned special distinction at the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association’s State Youth Trap Competition in Waukesha on July 22.
Wilfuer won the Top Gun award, finishing the competition with a score of 49. He and another competitor were tied after regular competition, and the tie breaker was who had gone the longest since their last miss. Wilfuer had gone one bird longer to win the event.
This is the second year in a row that a Clintonville shooter has brought home the Top Gun award.
Klemp won the wildcard round, while Hansen and Kettenhoven placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the middle school bracket (14-15 year olds).
