Coffing, Wanda Milton

Wanda Milton Coffing, age 89, of Iola died Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Mac Arthur Hall in King, Wisconsin. Wanda was born in Crowley, Louisiana on April 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Herbert and May (Clark) Milton. Wanda married Courtney L. Coffing on July 12, 1946 in Crowley, Louisiana. She graduated from the Univ. of Southwestern LA, Lafayette, LA in 1962 and began her career as a grade school teacher. She was a devoted Methodist in faith and enjoyed many happy hours at the S.W. Louisiana Holiness Camp Meeting Assoc. at Lake Arthur, LA. She enjoyed a wonderful family life with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her other interests included Pen Crafters, Bible Studies and the piano. She was a member of the Iola VFW Ladies Auxiliary and as such was a frequent volunteer at the King Veterans Home long before she became a resident there. Wanda will always be remembered by everyone she met for her kind nature and southern charm. She is survived by her husband: Courtney L. Coffing of King; son, Lawrence (Barbara Wenzel) Coffing of Beach Park, Illinois; Daughter, Catharine (Fred) Borgmann of Iola; grandsons, Matthew (Shari) Coffing of Elwood, Ill; Tony (Mindy) Coffing of Belle Center, OH. Great grandchildren, Seth Thomas, Max and Justin. Wanda was preceded in death by a Brother, Harry H. Milton. A Memorial Service was held at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Main Chapel at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 28th, with Reverend Rich Engle officiating. Visitation was held on Monday from 4-7 PM. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and on Tuesday at the chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
