I’ve been perplexed over the fact that half of the American people remain loyal to President Obama and his administration, when he has repeatedly demonstrated socialistic tendencies, and has made decisions and executive orders that in some cases are contrary to our Constitution, and our very way of life. There are many instances of this, including, shutting down the Keystone Pipeline, alienating our allies such as Israel, denying freedom of religion, and apologizing for the U.S. to our enemies. There is much hatred of the U.S. out there.
Maybe the half of Americans who follow Obama simply do not know the whole truth. Several are complaisant, and many do not read or listen to the news. But the biggest deterrent to objectivity in news reporting is the mainstream media itself, by either under reporting, or not reporting it at all.
One of the most glaring examples of his abuse of power is that Obama has outraged the Catholic Church and many other religions, when he decided to force them to cover abortion and contraception in their employees’ insurance coverages. The Catholic Church runs schools, hospitals, charitable entities and more. All of these have employees, and they are covered with the Church’s self-insured health and accident insurance programs. Now, through Obamacare, they’re forced to cover the abortions and partial birth abortions, which is against Church doctrine, thus taking away our guaranteed religious freedom under the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution.
Obama has given the Church one year to “think about it.” Cardinal Timothy Dolan and the U.S. Council of Bishops, headed by Archbishop Lori, have complained to the Obama administration, and have promulgated the facts to all dioceses and parishes in the U.S. There have been prayer vigils, letters to Obama and other complaints, all thus far to no avail.
This mandate and attack on religious freedom must be stopped. The mainstream media has either under-reported or did not report anything on this subject. So, people who only get their news from the mainstream media might do well to include conservative news reporting in the mix in order to get both sides, including that which is not being reported. Doing this will enable these folks to make a more intelligent and objective decision when voting in November.
