Lady Truckers first at Hornet Invite

The Clintonville girls’ varsity cross country team competed with 12 schools at the 29th annual Hornet Invitational in Rosholt on Sept. 27, bringing home a first place individual and team finish.

Clintonville brought home the same first place trophy in 2011 and appears to be improving on their previous season’s success in 2012.

Clintonville’s small number of high quality runners are supporting each other, working together, and are very dedicated and hard working in their preparation workouts. It is showing during our competitive performances.

Clintonville runner Samantha Hohn has been delivering in her role as a senior and team leader. She is beginning to really turn on the speed and maintain grueling race paces. She has been knocking time off at each meet and established a new PR while finishing first overall with a 4K time of 15:06 at Rosholt. This is following a 4K time of 15:11 at the DH McDonald Invite at the Lake Breeze Golf Course, Winneconne, also preceded by a first place Masters finish at the Wautoma Invite, Camp Lucerne Neshkoro.

Clintonville’s top five girls varsity 4K runners at the Hornet Invitational were Samantha Hohn (1st; 15:06), Ali Johnson (3rd; 15:27), Sara Messner (5th; 15:55), Brianna Gretzinger (6th; 16:00) and Ana Huber (11th; 16:40). Other finishers for the Clintonville girls were Jessica Petruzates (17:35), Danielle Kiefer (18:18), and Aubrey Netzel (20:04).

Boys 5K finishers for Clintonville were Brandon Scheller (19:37), Kaleb Hatfield (21:22) and Noah Hartleben (21:34).
