Wolves post win over Indians

The Wolves posted a 42-0 win over Weyauwega-Fremont on Friday, Oct. 12. The win punctuated what has been a very successful regular season for Manawa, as they have a 6-2 record in the Central Wisconsin-8 Conference.

Manawa scored eight in the first quarter on a three-yard run by Sam Koehn, followed by a successful two-point conversion run by Logan Hass.

The Wolves added 12 points in the second quarter on a one yard run by Koehn and a 10-yard pass from Donny Sell to Wes Krauss.

In the third quarter, Hass scored on a five-yard run.

In the fourth quarter, Hass scored again on a 10-yard run. Brandon Bartel scored the two-point conversion.

Tristan Caterbury also scored in the fourth on a one-yard run, followed by a successful two-point conversion run by Alex Thompson.

The Wolves piled up 268 rushing yards and 163 passing yards. Hass gained 198 yards on 29 carries with two touchdowns, while Koehn carried 10 times for 34 yards and two touchdowns.

Sell completed six-of-16 pass attempts for 139 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Krauss caught three passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.

The Wolves defense came up with three interceptions. Sell picked off two passes, and Krauss intercepted one.

Alex Murphy led the team with four solo tackles, while Bartel had one solo tackle and 11 assisted tackles. Aaron Strebe added two solo tackles and nine assisted tackles.

Manawa will host their first round playoff game on Friday, Oct. 19, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. No game passes will be allowed, as this is a playoff game. Cost is $4 per person; children under age six get in free.
