Community Thanksgiving in Clintonville

The 35th annual Thanksgiving dinner for Clintonville area residents who do not have a place to share a meal on Thanksgiving Day will be provided Thursday, Nov. 22, by the Msgr. Loerke Council No. 1922 Knights of Columbus, with the assistance of the community.

The dinner will be held at the Clintonville Community Center, 30 S. Main Street, with a family-style meal being served starting at 11:30 a.m.

A traditional holiday menu is planned including roast turkey, baked ham, potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, two vegetables, coleslaw, bread, beverages and homemade pies for dessert.

There is no cost to attend, although donations are accepted. Reservations should be made by calling the Clintonville Community Center at 715-823-7667. The cost of the dinner is funded by proceeds from a raffle conducted by the Knights of Columbus during this time and by various donations from the community.

The Knights are seeking persons willing to donate homemade pies, with pumpkin and mincemeat preferred. Anyone willing to do so is asked to call Dick Writt’s home at 823-6477 or email him at [email protected] and leave their name plus the number and kind of pies they will donate.

Volunteers are also needed for all aspects of the event. Persons willing to help with the food preparation or who want to make a food donation (other than the pies) should contact Rick Rauterkus at 250-0262. Volunteers willing to help setup, serve the meal and clean up after the meal, or make other donations are asked to contact Dick Writt.
