Wolves beat Ozaukee 28-7 in first round

The Wolves rolled to a 28-7 win over Ozaukee in their first round playoff game on Friday, Oct. 19. The win propels them to a level two matchup against St. Mary Springs on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Manawa posted two touchdowns in the first quarter and added a third in the second quarter. Ozaukee also scored once in the second quarter, and the score was 20-7 in favor of Manawa at halftime.

The Wolves scored again in the third quarter, while the defense shut out Ozaukee in the second half.

Logan Hass ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Sam Koehn added 114 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

Wes Krauss completed one pass for 22 yards. Donny Sell was on the receiving end of that pass.

Manawa rolled up 304 yards rushing, earning 13 first downs on the ground.

The Wolves’ defense intercepted two passes, as Aaron Strebe picked one and Sell nabbed the other.

Jake Kaczorowski recovered one fumble for the Wolves, while Alex Murphy scooped up another. Murphy also added a quarterback sack.

Casey Johnson had three solo tackles and four assisted tackles, while Strebe added three solo tackles and five assisted tackles to lead the defense. Koehn added one solo tackle and five assisted tackles.

Manawa will play against St. Mary Springs at St. Mary Springs’ Fruth Field on Saturday, Oct. 27. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
