Truckers fall to Berlin

Four quarters of strong basketball helped the Berlin Indians girls’ varsity basketball team defeat the Lady Truckers by a score of 41-31.

Berlin led 10-7 after one quarter and 21-16 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Lady Truckers outscored Berlin 12-9 to bring the score to 30-28 in favor of Berlin.

In the fourth quarter, Berlin shut Clintonville down, outscoring the Lady Trucks 11-3 to earn the 41-31 victory.

Clintonville made 12 of 34 shots from the floor. The Lady Truckers made seven of 11 free throws and pulled down 27 rebounds – nine on the offensive end. The team had six assists and 24 steals to go with three blocks. Clintonville turned the ball over 23 times.

Berlin made 16 of 33 shots from the floor and six of seven free throws. They had 24 rebounds, with nine on the offensive end of the court. Berlin also had four assists, 11 steals, two blocks, and 16 turnovers.

Marietta Sorenson had eight points to lead Clintonville. Miranda Hagberg added seven points, while Allison Johnson scored six.

Autumn Voigt scored five, while Taylor Carpenter added three. Allison Shepard scored two to round out the scoring.
