Parade slated for Dec. 2

The city of Weyauwega’s Christmas parade and tree lighting will be held Sunday, Dec. 2.

Festivities begin with the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree at 5:30 p.m., on the library lawn.

The Weyauwega-Fremont Marching Band will lead the parade from the library to the corner of Pine and Main streets, for the lighting of the Wega Arts’ tree.

Animal Haven Zoo will provide a live nativity next to the downtown Christmas tree, weather permitting.

Following some singing by the tree, the festivities will move into the Gerold Opera House.

Children will get to visit with Santa Claus, and there will be music by the Waupaca Area Orchestra and high school Madrigal singers.

Those who want to participate in the parade are asked to line up in Alfred Street parking lot, behind City Hall.
