Hartleben, Robert A.

Robert A. Hartleben, age 85, of Plover passed away Monday evening December 3, 2012 at his home.

Private services will be held at the Veteran Cemetery in King.

Robert was born October 25, 1927 in Wittenberg, the son of Harry and Selma (Jensen) Hartleben. He graduated from Spencerian College in Milwaukee in 1951 with a Business Administration Degree. He entered the United States Army July 12, 1946 at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. He served his country as a PFC and earned the Army Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged August 11, 1947. Robert married Mary E. Davies January 29, 1955 in Clinton, WI. The couple settled in Milwaukee where he worked at Kraft Foods. They moved to Waupaca in 1961 and Robert worked at Woody’s Cheese in Waupaca where he retired in 1989. The couple moved to Plover in 1998. Bob had a passion for Polka music and loved participating in dancing festival’s with his wife Mary.

He is survived by his two children: Gary Hartleben, Waupaca and Sandra James, Milwaukie, OR.; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary in 2008, and his brother Willard.
