City employees recognized in Clintonville

Full-time and part-time city employees were recognized for their years of service at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

The city honored employees reaching the 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40 year marks. Mayor Judy Magee shared comments from supervisors and department heads regarding each of the employees being recognized, and all were invited to stay for cake and refreshments after the recognition ceremony.

A list of employees honored is as follows:

Police Department Clerk-Dispatcher Sarah Bouchette – 5 Years

“Sarah Bouchette was hired as a part-time Clerk-Dispatcher for the Police Department on July 19, 2007,” commented Magee. “Sarah is certified as a Wisconsin Department of Justice Time System Operator and works varied shifts for the Police Department on an as-needed basis.”

Water/Wastewater Advanced Operator LeRoy LeNoble – 5 Years

“LeRoy started in July of 2007 in the Wastewater Department. He came to us from another small community and already was a Certified Wastewater and Water Operator and is now an Advanced Operator,” said Magee. “LeRoy is a great addition to the Wastewater group. He is a hard worker and has a no-nonsense attitude. His extensive experience and ‘git ‘er dun’ approach is put to good use. We are glad you are here, LeRoy.”

Firefighter Mike Poole – 5 Years

“Although Mike has been on the department for five years, he has been part of the department for a long time,” said Magee. “Mike is always eager to get to the scene, whether a fire or accident and pitch in to do whatever needs to be done to ensure public safety. He is dedicated and willing to participate in the ‘other things’ that the fire personnel have to do, like maintain the station.”

Fire Department 2nd Engineer Nate Teske – 5 Years

“Nate began his career with the fire department in 2007. During the last five years, Nate has worked his way from firefighter to 2nd Engineer,” said Magee. “He is a reliable member of our department and when a person is needed as an extra hand or for help, if you call Nate – he will be there!”

Clintonville Electric Lineman Jon Carrick – 10 Years

“Jon started working for the City of Clintonville in August of 2002 in the Park and Recreation Department. Soon afterwards, in January 2003, Jon was hired into the Electric Department,” said Magee. “He became an Apprentice Lineman and went on to earn his Journeyman’s card. Jon is a key member of the Line Crew. He excels at working with the public, especially the annual 3rd Grade Tours. Jon’s future is bright as he is always willing to take advantage of training opportunities. Thank you, Jon.”

Firefighter Keith Graper – 10 Years

“Although Keith was a 2nd Engineer on the department, he stepped down in order to spend more time with his new twin daughters,” said Magee. “Keith is a hard-working member of our department and able to perform any task.”

Fire Department Lieutenant David Tichinel – 10 Years

“Dave is the department’s pinch-hitter. He is able to step in and take command in order to provide help when we are short-staffed,” said Magee.

Fire Department Lieutenant Shane Krueger – 15 Years

“Shane’s business sense along with his ability to work under pressure has been an asset to the Fire Department,” Magee said. “Shane tackles paperwork and helps with administrative tasks. Whenever extra training is available, Shane is the first one to step up and attend the training to better the department.”

City Administrator Lisa Kuss – 15 Years

“Lisa Kuss started in Clintonville as the City Administrator on Sept. 2, 1997. She has a Master’s in Public Administration from UW Milwaukee. While with the City she has worked on numerous economic development projects which have assisted many businesses in expanding or locating in our City,” said Magee. “She is responsible each year for personnel, budgeting, day to day operations of the City, assisting elected officials and staff in the various policies overseen by City government. She is married to Keith and has two children and three stepchildren.”

Fire Dept. Lieutenant Todd Prellwitz – 15 Years

“Todd is a key to the department as the lead Training Officer. He is also a negotiator and spends his time to save the department money in obtaining equipment and supplies,” stated Magee. “He organizes training sessions for our personnel that keep our department knowledgeable and current.”

Assistant Fire Chief Scott Eggleston – 20 Years

“Scott has moved up through the ranks through his many years serving on the fire department,” said Magee. “Scott’s credits include a grounded dedication to the fire department. He has secured several DNR Grants for the department. He has always been there to help Dean (in whatever rank Dean was serving in) as a right hand. When out at a fire scene, Scott knows how to use our personnel to expedite a secure and safe operation. His attitude motivates other firefighters to get the job done.”

Electric Utility Foreman Brian Ellickson – 20 Years

“Brian started working for Clintonville Water and Electric in June of 1992. He had been working as a lineman prior to coming to Clintonville, but had not been through the formal apprenticeship. Brian earned his Journeyman card and has continued to prosper,” said Magee. “He later was made Foreman, the position he holds today. Keep in mind the traditional ‘Foreman’ title doesn’t come close to describing all the things that Brian does. Because we are a small utility, he does much more than directing day-to-day assignments to the Line Crew. He engineers, procures inventory, schedules jobs, and directly assists with customer service. Thanks, Brian.”

Police Officer Dennis Finger – 20 Years

“Officer Finger Joined the Clintonville Police Department on Feb. 3, 1992. Dennis served as a Police Patrol Officer for the Department until January 1999 when he was appointed to the position of Police School Liaison Officer for the Police Department to replace Officer Schroeder,” said Magee. “Dennis has an Associate Degree in Police Science from Fox Valley Technical College. Officer Finger is also a certified instructor for the Counteract Alcohol and Drug Abuse Education program taught to 5th and 6th graders in our schools.”

Fire Chief Dean Poole – 20 Years

“Dean began his career with the Clintonville fire department in 1992 under Chief John Krubsack and then Jeff Kubitz,” stated Magee. “During his career he has worked his way up the ladder from firefighter, to 2nd Engineer, and Lieutenant. In 2001 Dean became the assistant fire chief and in 2007 he became the Chief.”

Senior Police Clerk-Dispatcher Sue Rohan – 20 Years

“Sue began her duties with the Clintonville Police Department on June 15, 1992. Her duties included front counter service, radio and telephone dispatch, dictation transcription, records maintenance, data entry, and all other related responsibilities with the Police Department,” Magee said. “Sue had overseen the operation of the Clerk- Dispatcher position since that time and also serves as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief. The Clerk-Dispatcher position has expanded significantly in recent years with the addition of providing registration services for all forms of vehicles in the community along with many other services to the community. Sue has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminals Justice from UW Oshkosh.”

Police Officer Dennis Schroeder – 20 Years

“Officer Schroeder Joined the Police Department as a part-time Police Officer on June 15, 1992 and was appointed to a full time position on May 3, 1993. Officer Schroeder became the community’s first Police School Liaison Officer on April 24, 1995 where he served until being promoted to the position of Patrol Sergeant on Jan. 1, 1999,” said Magee. “Officer Schroeder served as second-shift Patrol Sergeant until Dec. 31, 2008 when he returned to a Patrol Officer position because of family commitments. Officer Schroeder obtained an Associate’s Degree in Police Science from Fox Valley Technical College in 1991, making the Dean’s list. Water/Wastewater Utility Lab Technician Gary Sipiorski – 20 Years

“Gary started working for the City of Clintonville in April of 1992. At that time, he split his time between the Wastewater Department and the Park and Recreation Department. Gary started taking classes and successfully achieved the Advanced Wastewater Operators Certification,” said Magee. “After a few years on the job, they needed someone full-time in Wastewater and the Manager asked Gary if he was interested. The rest was history! Gary’s specialty is the certified Wastewater Lab. His meticulous recording keeping and organizational skills keep the lab running smoothly. We are lucky to have Gary.”

Police Officer Mark Zachow – 30 Years

“Officer Zachow joined the Clintonville Police Department on April 15, 1982 as a part-time Dispatcher while pursuing a Police Science Degree full time. He graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in May of 1981 with an Associate Degree in Police Science. He was appointed to a position as a part-time Patrol Officer in July of 1983 and was then promoted to a full time Patrol Officer position on Feb. 1, 1984,” Magee stated. “Since that time, Officer Zachow has served the community as a Patrol Officer and also handles the duties of the Neighborhood Watch Program in the community. She served on the Board of the Youth Services Section of the Wisconsin Library Association from 1993-95 and was Chair of the Youth Services Section in 1994,” Magee stated. “Kathy became Director of the Library on April 1, 2001 following the retirement of Harriet McCauley. Kathy currently serves as the President of United Way of Clintonville and Vicinity.
